The Ford Owners Association of the Carolinas is very excited to announce that they have chosen Mercury as their feature vehicle for the 9th Annual Blue Oval Classic Car Show. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, 2013, and will be held at Mooresville Ford, just north of Charlotte, NC.
As the featured vehicle, event shirts will have a Mercury-specific theme, Mercurys will have a designatd parking area at the show, and there will be specific judging classes for Mercurys entered in the show. Preliminary info can be found on the FOAC website: http://www.foacarolinas.com/
In addition to the Blue Oval Classic, the Carolina Marauders will be hosting a regional meet May 3rd – 5th, and are extending an invitation to any IMOA members that would like to attend either or both events. The headquarters hotel is going to be the Hilton-University Place; the Hilton has given us a very attractive lodging rate for the weekend, and the hotel’s convenient location makes it a great place for access to numerous activities. http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/north-carolina/hilton-charlotte-university-place-CLTHUHF/index.html

here’s an update on the BOC.
There will be multiple classes for Mercurys
Mercury Marauder 2003-2004 Supercharged
Mercury Marauder 2003-2004 Naturally Aspirated
Mercury Marauder Earlier than 2003
Mercury 1965 and Later
Mercury 1964 and Earlier
Also, as noted above, the Carolina Marauders will be hosting a regional get together in conjunction with the car show, Friday evening prior to the show, and after the show on Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Would really enjoy getting together with other Mercury owners throughout the Southeast for this event.

We’re just under a month away from the 2013 Blue Oval Classic, would love to see any Southeastern Mercury owners in the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia or Tennessee area come on over for the event.
The FOAC folks are trying to get preliminary estimates on participants, so anyone interested let me know so that I can pass along the info.

So far it looks like 10 to 13 late model Marauders, one 1964 Marauder, and a 1966 S-55 will be in attendance at the show. Would be great to have a few other nice older Mercurys on display. If you’re interested in attending the show, please let me know as soon as possible so we can reserve display space.
