Hello all, I was wondering if anyone can help me in finding any place that sells repro fuel tanks for a ’60 full-size Merc. My ’60 Park Lane’s tank seeps a bit, so I’m not sure if it’s worth restoring if I can get a new repro. So far, I was told by one [reputable] company that their tanks are from the original specs. I received in the mail what looks to be a tank for a 63-64 full-size Merc. Any tips or info will be greatly appreciated.

I sent my leaking tank to this company and they fixed it back in 1999 (1960 Mercury Monterey):
    Renu – Gas Tank
    3205 Middlebury Street
    Elkart, IN 46516

It was damaged in delivery after initial repair, but they repaired it and I have not had a problem since (18 years).

Jerry, thanks so much for the information. Other people that I’ve spoken to seem to be split on either replacing the old one or having it reconditioned. I’m a layman at this, but the tank doesn’t leave puddles, so I think it’s salvageable. Since I want to keep the car as original as possible, I’ll probably take the chance. Thanks again. Regards, John C.
