Decided to install limit switches.thanks again.
Thanks Virgil, the six volt motors are doing fine but they seem to be much more powerful than before.instead of changing motors,do you think I could set up some thing in line on the hot wire that would momentarily stop the motor before the window gears start to skip? Thanks Mike
Okay guys , I found out that what the condenser looking component is. It’s an electrical noise reducer.it seems that the sending unit creates electrical noise that will be picked up by our AM car radio. Also tested the sending unit and it is bad.thanks to Virgil and Ray for your help. Mike
Sounds good thanks Virgil.
Thanks Ray
Does anybody know where I could purchase one? I do have the numbers off of the part
I called Daytona parts co. And gave the info I needed ,and much more info about the carburetor. Mike
Thanks for the tip on c.f. ford parts,
I purchased a switch from Dennis Carpenter for a ford that fit my 52 mercury. I think the part covered from 1949-1956 .some of the wires were different colors and I had to figure out what each wire did on the ford switch compared to the mercury switch.the hardest part of the job was snaking the wires of the new switch down the column.
